First stock trading, then real estate trading

Jakob Mähren was born and grew up in Berlin. His exact date of birth is not known, only the year of birth, 1982. After graduating from high school in 2002, he earned money through day trading . He bet on short-term price movements on the stock market and quickly built up a fortune of 40,000 euros. He used this to buy a two-room apartment. He didn’t use it himself, however, but renovated it with the help of friends and sold it for twice the amount. This laid the foundation for his current business and the fortune associated with it.

Company founder at 20 years

The income formed the basis for the founding of Mähren’s company, the MÄHREN GRUPPE. With this company he acquired apartment buildings in Berlin districts such as Friedrichshain and Neukölln , which were less sought-after residential areas at the time. As the districts became more and more popular over time, the value of the properties increased. In order to be able to concentrate on his business activities, Mähren decided not to study or start an apprenticeship. In 2006, MÄHREN ASSET MANAGEMENT GmbH was founded, which took over the property management of Mähren’s properties.

Although Mähren concentrated his real estate business on Berlin, he soon became active in other regions of Germany . For example, his company acquired houses in East German cities such as Leipzig, Dresden, Halle and Magdeburg. The company also bought properties in the Ruhr region.

Mähren has been supporting social projects for years . In April 2011, his company donated 15,000 euros to the Laughing Hearts association, which supports socially disadvantaged children in Berlin. In December 2013, Mähren called on people via Facebook to donate to a new day and night facility for seriously ill children, which the Berliner Herz children’s hospice was building. A total of 60,000 euros was raised. In 2015, Mähren founded the Jakob Mähren Foundation, with which he continues to collect donations for social projects.

Expansion of services

In April 2016, Mähren was appointed to the advisory board of Deutsche Bank. There he is to contribute his knowledge to the real estate industry. Since September 2016, his company has been called MÄHREN AG . He decided not to go public, but did not rule it out for the future. In 2020, Mähren founded MÄHREN DEVELOPMENT GmbH, which manages measures for the construction, renovation and maintenance of the properties owned by MÄHREN AG. The company also expanded its business activities to include warehouse, logistics and industrial properties, for the management of which IndustREAL GmbH was founded.

The company now has over 70 employees and, in addition to Germany, also owns properties in the USA, Italy and Austria. The company’s total transaction volume is currently more than 4 billion euros .
